It's already March, and the market has been hot since early January. Interest rates are still creeping up, the economy is good and the good news - for buyers - there are more houses being listed daily. If you are a Seller, get your home on the market soon as, judging from the amount of new listings I have coming up, there is going to be a lot more inventory soon.
I am hoping the trend of having a lot of houses falling out of escrow does not continue, but if you are a Buyer - WRITE A BACKUP OFFER if the house you love is already in escrow. You may still be able to buy it. If you are a Seller - TAKE A BACKUP OFFER. My most recent Seller was able to easily move their backup offer into first place when the first buyer was unable to move forward. Our El Dorado County inventory is higher than last year, with 400 houses on the market last January, and 430 on the market this January. Inventory doubled my July last year, so now is the time to list. before everybody else does.
I am happy to be in my 16th year of selling Real Estate, 30th year of living in El Dorado County and 35th year of being married. 2017 was great.
