Happy New Year! We are off to a Great Year in Real Estate! Interest rates are still down (burt slowly sneaking up), the economy is good and the good news - for buyers - there are more houses being listed daily. If you are a Seller, get your home on the market soon as, judging from the amount of new listings I have coming up, there is going to be a lot more inventory soon.
I am hoping the trend of having a lot of houses falling out of escrow does not continue, but if you are a Buyer - WRITE A BACKUP OFFER if the house you love is already in escrow. You may still be able to buy it. If you are a Seller - TAKE A BACKUP OFFER. My most recent Seller was able to easily move their backup offer into first place when the first buyer was unable to move forward. Our El Dorado County inventory is about the same as it was last December, with a little oer 400 houses on the market. But I have a feeling that is going to rise more swiftly than last year when the inventory took until July to double.
